The workshop will cover lumbar epidural steroid injections, facet injections, sacroiliac joint injections, transforaminal injection/selective nerve blocks, medial branch blocks and lumbar RFA.

Participants will also learn risks associated with these procedures and how to avoid them.

The Emory University Department of Neurosurgery is set to host the Skull Base Surgery Course “A 360 Degree Perspective” Hands-On Workshop, November 3-5, 2022.

This three-day course will be conducted by skull base ENT and neurosurgeons who will address the theoretical basis of traditional skull base microsurgical techniques, discuss advanced expanded endoscopic techniques. 

Bioskills workshop sessions will be used to simulate procedures in a hands-on laboratory setting using preserved and injected cadaveric specimens.

This intimate 3-day dissection-centered course focuses on complex skull base approaches including the fronto-orbitozygomatic, pericavernous, middle fossa anterior petrosectomy, translabyrinthine, far lateral. All material is presented in an immersive 3D format in Weill Cornell’s state-of-the-art Neurosurgical Innovations and Training Center.

Participating surgeons work at 3-D interactive cadaver workstations, where they watch cadaveric dissections and review surgical anatomy—all in 3D—before and during their own dissection. The combination of the 3-D virtual reality environment and the cadaveric hands-on dissection affords surgeons excellent preoperative training and rehearsal of current, complex approaches in cranial base surgery.

The 2022 UCSF Techniques in Complex Spine Surgery Course is a two-day course emphasizing pioneering trends in spinal surgery. This course is designed to be interactive with didactic lectures given by leaders in the spine community as well as a hands-on bioskills lab portion. Participants will review and practice surgical principles and techniques in the treatment of spinal deformities and tumors.
